Explanation and Apology

Ta-da! Everything I blogged from January to June no longer exists. Well, I have the photos, along with the dozens of outtakes, but I don’t have a clue what I wrote about. So my deepest apologies to those of you who were following this blog earlier, for such is the ephemeral transience of life.
Actually, it works out pretty well. I took a break from blogging in late spring, when I was overwhelmed with work schedules and auditions and just couldn’t find the time to write anything. In a fit of pique over some technological problems with the blog (including not being able to back it up), I cancelled my hosting. (Somehow I thought WordPress would have everything stored; nope, that would be GoDaddy, my host…) Then over the summer, a fairly quiet time in NYC, I began to try my hand at writing more in general, and blog posts were a natural result of that creative blossoming.
The only problem was that they were a bit of a departure from my previous fashion-centered approach. Sure, I’d dabbled in feminist ponderings and a few more intellectual moments, but by and large, Gingham and Steel was a fashion blog. So these new blog posts I’d created, much more reflective of my eclectic mind, were going to be a slight leap, and I wasn’t sure how I was going to explain it to you all.
Well, having to start over from scratch is the best answer ever! New design (sans technological issues), new content – it’s the new Gingham and Steel. I hope you’ll come with me for the ride.
And don’t worry – every now and then, there’ll be a fashion post. I may be busy, but I’m still a woman. 🙂
What do you think of the new look? Any content you’d love to see?
